My medium of choice is acrylic but I also appreciate the richness of oil and the freedom of watercolor. I am always amazed at the creative process, how you can begin with a blank canvas and some paint and create something that truly resonates with another person. I used to think that each painting was like my “baby” because I put so much of my heart and soul into it. As a result, it was hard to let go of my work. But since then, I have learned that I’m no longer creating for myself, but for others. My work is not my own, I’m only part of the process. I never know who might connect with each individual painting or why. Is it something I am putting out there? Is it energy or emotion? Is it something bigger? Regardless of the answer, I do know that it thrills me time and again to see what other people see in my artwork. To give them a piece of myself and my vision and encourage them to make their own personal connection. To see only what they can see. To take a piece of my artwork and make it theirs."
